About GO TEC(TM) Great Opportunities in Technology and Engineering Careers (GO TEC(TM)) is a collaborative hub-and-spoke program, administered by the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) in Danville, VA, that builds strategic talent pipelines from K12 to higher education.
Starting in middle school, GO TEC partners engage students in Career Connection labs using hands-on learning for high-demand career pathways such as precision machining, welding, IT and cybersecurity, robotics and automation, precision agriculture, biotechnology, energy, mechatronics, and advanced materials.
What will you do? In support of IALR's economic transformation mission and in partnership with the Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM), the GOVA Region 4 (VDOE Sup.
Region 1 primarily) Training Coordinator works with K12 educators to deliver GO TEC Career Connections curriculum and ensure up-to-date training on industry-specific equipment used in the program.
The Coordinator provides continuous program support by offering a one-of-a-kind training opportunity for GO TEC teachers as well as technical support to ensure proper equipment setup and maintenance for each middle school lab.
The GO TEC Training Coordinator works as part of a team to support and expand GO TEC pathways.
The GO TEC Training Coordinator is a full-time, grant-funded (approx.
three years) position located at the CCAM facility in Prince George County, Virginia, reporting directly to the GO TEC Technical & Training Manager at IALR with activity oversight and coordination by CCAM's Director of Development.
Where will you work? Commonwealth Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CCAM), Prince George County, Virginia What do you offer? Bachelor's degree with two years of experience using instructional and industry technologies Experience with Solid Works, Fusion 360, or other 3-D modeling software applications preferred.
Experience in developing curriculum and/or training to support education and workforce development preferred.
Must be able to move freely between facilities Operate and maintain program and training equipment; manual dexterity.
